BIOGRAPHY

Hip Hopper since a toddler” is the famous Nas  bar that summarizes my start as an artist As student of Old Dominion University, I was first exposed to spoken word poetry through an open mic event called Etymology. My writings skate the line between Hip Hop and Poetry merging into a hybrid with no need nor desire to be labeled.

I have featured nationally at Nicolas Bookstore in New York, Tuesday Verses in Washington, DC, and the renowned Apache Café in Atlanta, GA. I have also featured and hosted locally at several notable venues including the Chrysler Museum, the Harrison Opera House,  Old Dominion University, Hampton University, Downing Gross Community Center, The Funny Bone and the Newsome House.  I have performed for and worked with the public school systems of Norfolk, Hampton, and Newport News.  I have also worked with various charities including Parents against bullying, the Boys and Girls Club, and Teens with a Purpose.

I was the co-creator and host of the local radio show “The elements of Hip Hop”, a weekly forum that examined the origin and evolution of Hip Hop, by studying its five elements.  I was also the host, co-founder, and creative director of Verses and Vibes a weekly spoken word event that ran for 5 years in the Hampton Roads Area!  She takes great pride in being a host inter-acting with the artist and audience and offering the same type of forum that was once was offered her. I have hosted at all types of events including kid-friendly, weddings, and birthday parties.

In 2013 she released and album called “Glyphs and Graffiti”, which was a introduction of my evolution as an Emcee and poet.  I have also had the extreme pleasure of opening for the legendary Dick Gregory.  In 2017, I released my 2nd studio album “What the Water Gave” along with two music videos. In 2019, I was brought on as a regular monthly host at the poetry landmark Busboys and poets

Currently I am recording a 3rd project.  I am also recording a bi-weekly vlog called ‘Glo’s Corner’ where I discus all of my passions including hip-hop, spirituality, health, food, yoga, and fashion.  It is a unique mixture of topics to my match my uniqueness as an artist.

My next venture include writing a life style blog named LetzGlo, which covers those same topics but also includes my written poetry and essays.  I am also venturing into event planning and artist development to include writing, styling, executive producing, and coaching.

My goals are to continue to grow as a writer, host, and performer, and create art that educates, entertains and elevates! Letz Glo!!
